Mississippi 2, Trenton 1

The Devils ended their southern road trip with a point as they fell 2-1 in overtime to the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Sunday in front of 2, 707 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.  The overtime loss was an improvement over the 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Sea Wolves on January 4.  The point puts the Devils record at 2-1-1 for the trip.

Mississippi opened the scoring in the first when they went on a powerplay courtesy of a trip by Jason Paige.  The goal came at 12:15 of the period when Marek Kvapil fired a shot from the right corner that went off the pad of Devils' netminder Dave Caruso, but Jason Tejchma was right there to knock in his 12th goal of the season to put the Wolves up 1-0.

The Devils would tie it up in the second when at 4:58, when after two attempts from right in front by Brad Mills and Matt Cohen failed, Colin Pepperall found the puck right in front of him and fired it home for his 4th goal of the season.

The game would go into overtime after neither team could find the net in the third, and it was then, at 1:37, that Marek Kvapil, again from the right wing corner, found Kyle McAllister who shot the puck
straight through Caruso's legs to give the victory to Mississippi.

Ryan Munce was again spectacular in net for Mississippi, stopping 36 of 37 shots to pick up the
win, while Dave Caruso stopped only 21 of 23 shot for the loss.

My Three Stars:
1) Kyle McAllister (MIS) - Game-winning Goal.
2) Marek Kvapil (MIS) - 2 Assists.
3) Ryan Munce (MIS) - 36 Saves.
